CRC FAQs

General Information

What is Crisis Response Care? Crisis Response Care is a resource designed for first responders, Chaplains and community volunteers to deepen their knowledge in the area of crisis response. Our intention is to provide information from multiple sources in one place to assist them serving their communities.

We are able to provide the CRC training due to the generosity of donors who care and who have a passion to reinvest into their surrounding communities. This program really is about communities helping communities.

  • How to Donate: To donate online you can select the “Donate” button in the header of CRC.
  • Donate at CRC Class: You may also submit a donation by writing a check while attending one of the CRC classes.

Crisis Response Care is a 501 (c)3 organization. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by federal and state tax laws.

Critical incident Stress Management (CISM) is an adaptive, short-term psychological helping-process that focuses solely on an immediate and identifiable problem. It can include pre-incident preparedness, to acute crisis management, to post-crisis follow-up. The classes offered by CRC are foundational classes that will teach you the basics of CISM. These foundational classes are required for CISM/Peer teams across the nation.

The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation is a worldwide recognized organization that provides curriculum and certification for CISM classes.

Yes. The Advanced classes do require prerequisites. Please check the individual class descriptions for more detail. All other classes do not have prerequisites. The Individual and Group Crisis Intervention classes are the foundational classes. However, you do not need to take those to take other classes, but the foundational classes will help with the terminology presented in the other classes.

All CRC classes are available online and some ICISF classes. Due to class content and exercises, many ICISF classes are available only in person.

No. CISM classes will benefit anyone that currently responds to or is interested in joining a team that responds to traumatic events. More and more these classes are being taught to people from all walks of life and professions who take it back to their church, job, or just everyday life.

Because of content in some of these classes participants must be at least 18 years old.

Yes, if you complete the entire class. Each class requires a certain number contact hours in order to receive a Certificate of Completion. Partial certificates are not issued.

The Institute for Compassionate Care (ICC) was in existence prior to CRC. The mission of ICC involves both crisis response training and direct care to help survivors of crisis, loss and trauma. Kevin and Jennifer have trained for CRC since its inception by offering the four CISM classes they offered and others.

RESET Life Coaching (RLC) exists to help people through equine assisted personal and executive coaching  for emotional, spiritual and relational growth and wellness

Before Conference

Visit our CLASSES page to see class descriptions and access the registration form.

This will be listed on the registration page for each course. It is our goal to provide affordable training. CRC relies on donors like you to sustain this ministry. A common problem has been that people sign up for class but do not show up. Please make sure that you cancel a registration if you cannot attend so someone else can take your spot. We are considering charging a non-refundable registration fee to lower the no-show rate. To take a CISM across the country, the cost for a course usually ranges from $200-$600.

After you register and sign up for a class, you will receive an email confirmation from the CRC Registration system.

After Conference

We do not advocate “self-deployment” at a disaster situation. The best way to become involved, gain experience, and continue to receive training is to join an established team. See organizations page for more information.

Crisis Response Care offers many CISM classes. If you would like to find out more about additional classes, you can check out the following organizations:

  • ICSF
  • NVOAD
  • NOVA
  • FEMA

CISM Teams

No, CRC nor K-LOVE have CISM teams. Check with recommended organizations in your area to learn more about what's available.

Bring CRC Training Locally

We carefully consider each request and look for local organizations to partner with. Fill out our Bring CRC To You form to start this conversation.
